Evaluation on lip sync tutorial- Katy b
We shot 3 base tracks altogether and included them all in the final video. We first imported the sound track so we can match the lip syncing and the lyrics seamlessly together. We then layered all the base tracks we have together and marked the beats of the song, by doing this it shows us where to cut the clip further on in the process.
After we has all the base tracks together, we then added the match cuts and jumps cut to make the video look more interesting. We then deleted parts of the base tracks so it changes to a new footage. Furthermore, we then added slow motion to certain shots to give the video a more edgy and fun feeling towards it.

8. Review on Favourite previous student video. -Shazna
There are several base tracks, these are one of many of them produced for the music video, with every different location there is a set costume with it also. In some of the pictures I have captured from the video such as the Merry Go round, had a black and white filter and then changed to the normal filter, similarly the shots taken in the studio, where the girl who performed as the artist wore a black hat, also had different filter effects applied on, to make it look vivid and stand out. It was visually interesting to watch as there were bright colours and several locations. They succeeded very well in editing, for example they edited the video, so that it would be in time with the music, I thought that was very clever and had great impact on the music video. Although the camera were still at times, they did execute the other scenes very well although it would have been better if the camera was consistently moving, as the mood stays still whereas if the camera was moving, you can feel the music etc. They also did some edits which were visual such as the fireworks on the picture no.9 , perhaps they wanted to make it more visually engaging. The use of smoke machines added to the layers off effect, the bright green and pink smoke added depth and fun into the video.

Clean Bandit is an English electronic group founded in Cambridge, England, in 2009. In January 2014, they scored their first UK Singles Chart-topping single with "Rather Be", a collaboration with Jess Glynne, featuring elements of both classical and dance music.Clean Bandit produce their own music and their songs frequently feature guest artists
I have used YouGov to research on their target audience, as we have similar interests in genres, therefore our target audience would be similar.
From research I have found that most fans of Clean Bandit are mostly females aged 18- 24, they like spending their pasttimes at trendy bars and restaurants, nightclubs. They also like exploring new genres and new artists and love going to live concerts.

A review on previous students video.
This video impressed me the most because they followed the conventions on how to make a good music video. The video contained many long shots, close ups and mid shots. The intention is that it creates emphasis on the artist, location and emotions. Plus, close ups are used not only to show emotions but to reflect the words of the song with the movement of the lips of the artist so the audience can relate and understand the lyrics more.

Furthermore, I liked the use of mise en scene and props that was included in this video. The purpose of mise-en- scene is that it puts importance on the representation of something. In the beginning of the video one of the boys was at the graveyard and had flowers in his hand. We could imply that someone he knew is dead and he is still in grief and remorse over him which links to the lyrics.

12. Premiere Pro lip sync trial
It was my first time using Premiere Pro and I learnt that I had to put the original soundtrack on the timeline before anything else. I had to click on the video I wanted to be in our clip and choose it in order. Once I chose the videos for my base track, I had to mark the areas that I was using and I found this quite difficult because the markers were not in line with each other. I had to layer the videos on top of each other and use the marker tool to mark the full video on the bass track. The mark signals were useful because it indicated to me where I wanted to cut the videos, I then used the eraser tool to cut parts of the video that were not needed. After, I played the video back and had to make sure that the sound was in tune with the video; although getting the lip syncing accurate was not necessary because there were scenes of instruments playing.
premiere lipsync trial
Last year to edit my title sequence i used final cut pro, however im using premiere pro to edit and create my music video. At first it was quite confusing and hard to to match the lip syncing properly but i then got the hand and used to it. To first create the short footage we first had to move the original sound track so we can discover the first word that the artist is saying then marking it by pressing the button 'm', this indicates where we cut furtheron. We then added more shots with different angels and marking when they sing the first word. When i layered all the shots together i then marked all the base tracks then cut all the shots when its marked by the tool razor. By doing this, the video contains a variety of shots and different angles to make the video look more intersting and amusing.
Premiere Tutorial
Last year we used final cut pro so this was my first time using premiere, at first I found it hard and confusing because marking it at the right time and cutting the base tracks up perfectly without ruining the music video seemed difficult and hard, we had to make sure that the lip sync and the audio was matching. However once I got used to it, I understood it more. We first dragged the original audio onto the timeline then adding the shots that we wanted to use on top of each other and by marking it according to the beat and rhythm we cut out some bits so that the other shots can be seen and by checking it was accurate and playing it back once I was pleased with my outcome I put the inputs and outputs, because its my first time using Premiere there are some things that I will still need to learn and I think I have to work on my rhythm and marking so that it cuts on the beat rather than just cutting randomly.

Ellie Goulding.
In each of these mini sections, it gives people a brief and quick outline on the British singer Ellie Goulding. For example it shows the demographics, lifestyle, personality, brands, entertainment and online of Ellie Goulding target audience.
The purpose of this is that it shows a vague description on the fan base, which can also be reflected on the artist and the genre as well. As the website shows and portrays the majority answers, it gives you an insight of how many people think the same way and has the mentality and personality as yourselves.

Summer work
For our summer we were asked to create a storyboard for our favourite music video. We had to include the shots, camera footage, mise en scene in the first minute of the video.
8. Review of previous student video
I chose this video because I think it was executed really well, and it used a numerous amount of different shot types and edits which drew me when choosing my favorite video. Also, it was very colorful and I enjoyed seeing the edgy schoolgirl look that this video was trying to portray. The use of smokey effects was good because it brought the video to life and helped prosecute the edgy theme.
This is quite abstract as the camera captures a photo being taken by friends to highlight the theme of friendship that runs throughout the song.
I like the way that the edit changes from colour to black and white as it looks like more fun and presentable, and shows that the video makers are playing around with the edits to make the shot more eye catching to its target audience.
The use of mid long shots show the characters which are a central significance of the video to establish who is singing. The background also helps establish the setting and show where the shooting is taking place.
7. YouGov Profiler
I chose Ellie Goulding because she is a UK pop artists which is similar to an artist that we are going to choose for our video. We will be having a similar target audience to her and as the genre is the same, we will be taking tips and ideas from her videos.
6. Laura Mulvey's theory on representation
2 videos on Laura Mulvey's theory of representation
In this video, at 0.38 seconds it shows a woman in a bikini and a man looking at her up and down as a sex object, then as the video progresses it shows more of her body which could be an illustration of the woman being 'dismembered'.
In this video at 1.40 seconds, it shows a man singing and woman in bikinis dancing behind him. It shows them in the frame which signifies how woman are represented in a sexual way as they are half naked.

2. Introduction- Summer Homework - Shazna
I Created a storyboard for the song 'How deep is your love' by Calvin Harris and Disciples. The storyboard captures the different shot types, movement and angle of the camera. I also included the Mise en scene , as well as lighting and blocking. In just under one minute into the music video, there was over 40 different shot types.
1. Introduction - Shazna Begum
Hey Guys!!
My name is Shazna and I will posting very often regarding our new project, which is to create a music video of our choice, although it has to be by a British artist as we need consent for using the song for copyright issues etc.
Here is the website I had created during the summer on the duo artist Blonde, I chose this artist as I was unaware of any official website, therefore I could explore different layouts and structures as I had no guidelines. I created my website on Wix, which was fairly easy and had many different templates to choose from.
